These incompetent little tools as you refer to them have a specific agenda in their attacks on anti wikileak sites, and that is to bring the wikileaks situation to the broad public stage. Which it has done a very effective job. I would put to you these incompetent little tools have made more of an impact on this planet than you have or ever will. What they are doing is giving You, Commerce at large, and Government at large is a serious Education of the existing digital age, and it looks like a lot of people don't particularly like this education. People don't like being exposed to how little the understand the current digital age and their incompetencies. Right now the Internet Security Business will be getting floods of requests about how companies and government can protect themselves from these attacks. These little tools are not going to go away, they have always been there, and now after this will only gain in strength and numbers due to the wikileaks issue though not apart of wikileaks. The US Government has bought this on themselves, using draconian measures to try to block wikileaks information, they invited contemporary digital activists to get on board. The US Government really showed how Naive they are when it comes to the understanding of the internet, let alone the power of social media. There are two points here. 1. the web, and the government seriously thinking that the blocking of DNS provider and withdrawing support from Paypal Mastercard visa etc would or could make any difference whatsoever, to the distribution of electronic data. Their ignorance of this medium is staggering. 2. Social Media. Being any person in any country and time zone can communicate with each other and share information "Instantly" It is obvious now that this was not even taken into account when they made the decision to go after wikileaks. And they are now paying the penalty for it. Now we are in a position, where the US government is aware of the impact of social media, are they considering their options in terms of reducing further risk via social media? I think anyone with any technical knowledge of the internet would agree with me, that once the cat is out of the bag, digital information wise, its out for good. there is no ability of any government to remove it once its out on the net and DVD media, flash disk media etc. So their only option may be to legislate against its mention on social media. This is where we are right now. This is a very scary time we are in right now. Only time will tell how it unveils. |
